The Blackjack Hole Card

The dealer is given two cards in American Blackjack of which one is face down and the other is facing up. This face down dealer card is called the ‘Hole Card’. If his face-up card is an Ace, he can instantly check the Hole Card secretly and if it is a blackjack, the round ends and all the bets are collected by the dealer.

European Blackjack, on the other hand, has no such Hole Card. The dealer gets one face up card and only after all the players get their hands, he gets the second card. The rules of the American Blackjack are more lenient than the British Blackjack and players get better opportunities to win.
